Joan D. Atwood, Ph.D., LMFT, LCSW
Dr. Atwood is a social psychologist, licensed social worker and licensed marriage and family therapist. She is a clinical member and approved supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists. She is a Diplomate in the National Association for Anger Management and also in Association for Sex Therapists. She is also the President and CEO of New York Marriage and Family Therapists NYMFT. She is in private practice for 30 years where she is a nationally known couples therapist. She practices in Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY, Williston Park, NY and NYC. She has published 21 books and over 100 journal articles in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.
